Telling viewers he would be on the dating app during a themed episode of Wheel of Fortune, the 51-year-old made the remark during a “Love Is in the Air” episode of the long-running game show which he fronts, speaking alongside co-host Vanna White, who recently married her partner John Donaldson in January.
The episode featured couples competing against each other, prompting Ryan to reflect on his own relationship status. The television host, who previously dated Aubrey, 27, for three years before their separation in 2024, has since remained single.
The couple’s split was confirmed by People, with a source stating they had mutually decided to end their relationship while remaining on good terms.
Ryan said: “I love ‘Love Is In The Air’. And I’ll be on Tinder tonight, so I can find it,”
Vanna said: “Love will be in the air next time. I promise.”
Ryan later said: “I am so lonely up here.”
According to People, a source close to the former couple said: “After three beautiful years together, Ryan and Aubrey have mutually decided to part ways.”
The source said they “plan to stay in each other’s lives as good friends and support one another’s endeavours”.
During their relationship, Ryan and Aubrey attended events together and shared messages publicly.
Aubrey previously wrote on social media following Ryan’s final episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan: “Ryan, never have I ever met a more inspiring man.”
Aubrey said: “You make it look so easy, but the truth is there is just nobody quite like you.
“I am so beyond proud of you.”
Ryan has previously spoken about relationships and marriage during an episode of Live with Kelly and Ryan in 2017.
He said: “My parents (have) been married for 47 years, and so I have this thing.”
Ryan said: “The truth is, I have this thing that I don’t want to screw it up and a lot of times, they get screwed up and so I figure, the longer I wait, the older I’ll be, the closer to death I am, so I can get it in, and not screw it up… and I didn’t do it, and it was the right move.”
