The legendary folklore story of Bigfoot is now the premise for a new Off-Broadway musical running in New York City right now!
Here’s the synopsis: “Set in the town of Muddirt, a glow-in-the-dark oasis that exists somewhere between a chemical dump site and a nuclear power plant, BIGFOOT! is a larger-than-life musical tale of corrupt politicians, small town paranoia, and misunderstood youth. When that youth happens to be eight feet tall, innocent, and in dire need of electrolysis, it makes him more than a target. It makes him the subject of a can’t miss can’t-myth musical comedy.”
Grey Henson, best known for his work in musicals like Mean Girls and Shucked, is playing the title character alongside a cast of musical theatre favorites like Crystal Lucas-Perry, Katerina McCrimmon, Alex Moffat, Jason Tam, and more.

In a recent interview with New York Theatre Guide, Grey talked about bringing the character to life and how he connects with the imaginary figure.
“At the end of the day, he is just this really sweet, misunderstood thing, person, beast, being,” Grey said. “I connect to the character a lot because he’s an outsider, and we have all felt that way at some point. There’s a lot of simplicity and earnestness that’s easy to tap into. He doesn’t see himself the way everyone else sees him. What he ultimately wants is what most of us want: connection and community.”
Bigfoot is running through April 26 at New York City Center Stage I. Get tickets now!
