Missi Pyle is opening up about her history with the movie Bridesmaids and how she was told the role of Helen was right for her.

The actress is best known for roles in films like Galaxy Quest, Josie and the Pussycats, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Artist, Gone Girl, and Ma.

Missi just revealed in a new interview that she was part of the original table read for Bridesmaids, but then didn’t get cast in the movie.

Keep reading to find out more…

She told People, “I remember I did a table read for this movie called Bridesmaids, and Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo came up to me. They were like, ‘We wrote this part for you,’ and it was the part that Rose Byrne ended up playing.”

Judd Apatow, the producer of the movie, was also at the table read, which happened “well before” the movie was ever made.

“And then I heard they shelved it, and I think it had to do with it being a female comedy or whatever. I don’t even know,” she added. “A couple years later… I did audition for [Bridesmaids] but ended up not getting any of the parts. That’s this business in a nutshell.”

Missi can now be seen in the movie For Worse, playing in theaters.

A big reunion for the cast of Bridesmaids is in the works.
