Do you listen to country music? If you are on ONTD, probably not, since you are most likely a 30something white queer-ish person. As such, you are missing out on some great drama: a country music love triangle between two rising stars and one fuckboy.
Riley Green, 37, is a country music “star” who is inexplicably considered hot by many straight women. He has had five number-one hits on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. His best-known solo song is probably 2019’s “I Wish Grandpas Never Died.” (Yes, that is the name.)
However, his actual best-known song is one that he shares with Ella Langley, 26. It is “You Look Like You Love Me” — you know, that song that was all over TikTok for a while in 2024.
Summer/fall of 2024, fans of Green and Langley noticed that they had a lot — a lot — of chemistry together. Naturally, there was a lot of speculation that the two were hittin’ it in private. They always claimed to be just friends. However, this chemistry soon seemed to change.
Enter another woman: country-pop singer Megan Moroney. Megan, 28, was allegedly dating Green at the time, around 2024-2025-ish. Megan is sometimes called “the Sabrina Carpenter of country music” for her bright blonde hair and short, colorful costumes.
Megan and Riley were friends; they even posed with each other at the CMA awards.
Stans of the three musicians quickly started a shipping war, with some favoring Riley/Ella and others pushing for Riley/Megan. Ella has a dark and sultry look while Megan is more bubblegum and glittery, which egged both side on even more in the ship war.
Rumor has it that Riley cheated with Megan, who was a friend of Ella’s. In January of 2025, Megan Moroney and Riley Green vacationed together in St. Barth’s. Megan posted a picture of herself wearing Riley’s hat. Ella Langley reposted a tweet in which someone stated that Megan’s fans were being rude to Ella. Ella and Megan eventually unfollowed each other on Instagram. Megan visited Riley in his home state of Alabama and Riley would go on to attend Megan’s best friend’s engagement party.
On May 14 of 2025, Ella gave an interview where she said, “Everyone’s excited about Riley’s mustache. You can thank me for Riley’s mustache.” A week later, Riley made a post showing his clean-shaven face with the hashtag, #Shegone.
Ella added some fuel to the fire by posting a TikTok with her literally stirring a pot to a song about a man being “dead to me.”
On June 3rd of 2025, a girl posted a TikTok of herself in a Riley Green shirt singing to one of his songs. Megan left the comment, “need that shirt.” HOWEVER, just three days later on June 6th, Riley gave an interview stating unequivocally that he is not dating anyone. Poor Megan!!!
But hey, what’s going on this right now, February-March of 2026? Megan Moroney just released a new song called, “It has lines like, “I know that I’ll find better/But you’ll stay the same forever.” Her new album, Cloud 9, just hit number one on Billboard’s country album chart.
How is Riley Green responding? The boy is not thrilled! On the same day that Megan released her new song, he posted his *own* clapback, a sad acoustic song called “POS Like Me” in which he laments a woman dragging him “through the trash.”
Can’t be easy for an almost-40-year-old man when your two younger exes are doing better than you. Because Ella Langley’s smash hit “Choosing Texas” just reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
