The Bear is coming to an end after it’s upcoming fifth season, according to Jamie Lee Curtis.

The 67-year-old actress joined the show’s cast in season two and has had a recurring role as Donna Berzatto since.

Recently, she shared a post on Instagram saying the show was ending, and she’s now defending her post amid mixed feedback as an official announcement has not been made about the show’s future.

“FINISHED STRONG! Surrounded by an extraordinary crew and group of writers and producers and scene partners on the show that Chris Storer created, completing the story of this extraordinary family that we have all fallen in love with. Got to finish it out with my baby Berzatto bear, @lilcutieforever @thebearfx,” Jamie posted in mid-February.

While speaking with Access Hollywood at the premiere of her new show Scarpetta, the reporter noted to her, “People think you were confirming the show is ending.”

“But everybody’s confirmed the show is ending. I don’t understand why that’s such a [big deal],” Jamie responded. “Unless I’m gonna get a call from all the people saying, ‘You just told [everyone],’ I think everybody understood that it was the last season of the show. If it isn’t, then I’ve completely blown it.”

The Bear was renewed for a fifth season back in July 2025 after the fourth season’s debut.

The new episodes are expected to premiere later this year on FX on Hulu.
