Signal – Crossing Timelines
A detective Hae Young discovers a walkie talkie which connects him to a detective from the past, Jae Han. Jae Han is missing in the present day. Ironically, the detective from the past was the one investigating the case of Hae Young’s murdered friend.
Hwarang – Flower Boy Sageuk with modern twists
Bromance and flower knights. The ensemble is star-studded, Park Hyung Sik, Park Seo Joon, SHINee’s Minho, BTS’s V are the main four. Crown Prince Sam Maek Jong is weighed down by his royal robes and duties. He encounters the free spirited Moo Myung, flirty Kim Soo Hoo, carefree Seok Han Sung (BTS’s V), as well as Park Ban Ryu Kim Yoo Weol.
Love in the Moonlight – Romantic Sageuk
A sageuk (historical drama) where a young woman enters the palace as a eunuch to help pay her debts. The cast, playful Crown Prince Lee Young (Park Bo Gum), his bodyguard, Kim Byung Yeon (Kwak Dong Yeon) and Hong Ra On (Kim Yoo Jung) are stellar.
Hong Ra On is assigned to the Crown Prince’s chambers. As sparks fly, several secrets lie in wait to be uncovered.
Uncontrollably Fond – Tearjerker modern story
Shin Joon Young (Kim Woo Bin) is a popular actor who is diagnosed with a terminal disease. He reconnects with his estranged first love, Noh Eul (Suzy), now a documentary filmmaker. Confronted with a bleak future, they are compelled to make the most of their limited time together, healing and loving each other.
OP Note: This was Woo Bin’s last drama before his cancer was discovered in real life. It somehow makes it even more poignant.
Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo – Time travel Sageuk
Go Ha Jin (IU) is transported back to Goryeo dynasty after a near drowning accident and awakens as a lady of nobility. She is suddenly thrust into the lives and power games of eight princes.

This was my second year in K-Drama land and what a year that was. I miss this kind of feast. The only one I have not seen is “The K2” and I have no recollection of “W”. Dr. Romantic went on to have 2 additional seasons.
