Apparently, everything’s coming up Paramount.  The seventh installment in the Scream series provided the biggest opening weekend numbers for the series by a good margin, and led to Paramount’s first top spot at the box office in nearly a year. Scream 7 also made $33.1 million more overseas, for a total take of $97.2 million on a $45 million budget.

GOAT fell to second place with a $12 million take, dropping just 29% from last weekend. It’s made $130.5 million on an $80 million budget, but will face direct competition from Hoppers for family audiences next weekend.

Wuthering Heights came in third with a $7 million haul in its third weekend out, bringing its domestic total to $72.3 million and its worldwide tally to $192 million on an $80 million budget.

After expanding from solely IMAX theaters to almost 2,000 screens, EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert brought in an additional $3.5 million for fourth place, bringing its total take to $7.8 million. Crime 101 came in close behind with $3.4 million, making $30 million domestically in three weeks of release.
