Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is returning to television!
The 24-year-old actress, best known for her starring role in Netflix’s Never Have I Ever, has joined the season two cast of Elle, according to Variety.
She is the first new addition to the cast for season two, which was announced just a few weeks ago, months before the first season debuts.

Maitreyi will portray Sam, who is “Elle’s foil – possessing all our hero’s ambition and none of her optimism. She’s the founder, editor-in-chief, and lord baron of the school newspaper, the commissioner of the grammar police, and the enemy of joy. If Cosmo is Elle’s bible, The AP Stylebook is Sam’s holy grail.”
Lexi Minetree is, of course, playing Elle, the high school version of Reese Witherspoon‘s iconic Legally Blonde character.
Production on season two is set to start this spring.
In Elle, we see Elle Woods in high school as we learn about the life experiences that shaped her into the iconic young woman we came to know and love in the first Legally Blonde film.
Elle season one is slated to premiere on July 1st on Prime Video.
