In “we will never get to have nice things” news, Blackpink released their Deadline EP on February 27, 2026. Despite Blackpink serving up the same thing release after release, anticipation was high, not only for the lead single “Go” (which as an AI slop MV) but also for “Champion”–a song co-written by Ejae (of KPDH fame and one of the writers behind Red Velvet’s “Psycho,” which is one of the best kpop songs of all time).
To no one’s surprise, this is another Teddy-heavy album, with Teddy listed as a producer on three tracks: “Jump” (previously released), “Go” (the lead single), and “Fxxxboy.” Unfortunately, Dr. Luke was also involved. He is listed as a producer on two tracks: “Me and My” and “Champion.”
Things got worse when Redditors went digging to figure out why the hell Ejae would be involved with a Dr. Luke track only to discover that Ejae signed to Dr. Luke’s record label, Prescription Songs, in February 2025.
Some ONTD posts to help jog your memory if you’ve somehow forgotten why Dr. Luke is a piece of shit: Some of Dr. Luke’s problems and shitty behaviour in the music industry over the years (February 2016), Kesha drops lawsuit against Dr. Luke (August 2016), Kesha and Dr. Luke Have Settled Defamation Dispute Out of Court (June 2023), Katy Perry gets asked about working with Dr. Luke + Kesha wears an “LOL” shirt (June 2024), Katy Perry talks about why she chose to work with Dr. Luke (September 2024)
Album on Spotify (for production/writing credits), MV, Reddit, Ejae
