Alice Rohrwacher will direct an adaptation of Three Incestuous Sisters, based on the book of the same name by Audrey Niffenegger. Rohrwacher also penned the script with Ottessa Moshfegh. It follows “a volatile sibling rivalry that erupts when one sister is consumed by jealousy over another’s love affair, spiraling into obsession and madness.”
Dakota Johnson, Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley, and Josh O’Connor will star in the feature. This is a reunion for Rohrwaher and O’Connor, who previously collaborated on La Chimera, as well as Buckley and O’Connor, who played the titular roles in National Theatre Live’s 2021 take on Romeo & Juliet.
