Barry Manilow is still recovering from his lung surgery.

The 82-year-old Grammy-winning singer shared a statement on Instagram on Friday (February 20) announcing that he would be postponing all shows from February 27 to March 17.

He received treatment to remove a cancerous spot on his left lung in December, and while he has been working out regularly since then, he still can’t “sing more than three songs in a row.”

While he had been “sure” he’d be able to do arena shows again, the doctor disagreed.

His doctor said, “Barry, you won’t be ready to do a 90 minute show. Your lungs aren’t ready yet. You’re in great shape considering what you’ve been through, but your body isn’t ready. You shouldn’t do the first Arena shows. You won’t make it through.”

“Deep down, I wanted to go back-but my body knew what my heart didn’t want to admit: I wasn’t ready,” Barry continued.

Despite needing to reschedule 13 of his arena shows, the “Copacabana” singer will “likely” be able to perform in Las Vegas at the end of March, per his doctor.

He apologized to his fans for having to reschedule.

“The doctor said that my body had been through hell and that it needed time to heal. So, I’m going back to healing. All my love and gratitude, B,” Barry concluded.
