Hey, remember back in 2022 when Glee star Matthew Morrison joined the new panel of judges on So You Think You Can Dance and then a week after the S17 premiere he abruptly left the show for “failing to follow production protocols” and then it turned out that he was fired for texting one of the contestants?

He’s been lying low since then, starring in a 2023 Netflix Christmas movie and a tv movie called From Embers in 2024. He has mostly been working in the theater – he played Billy Flynn in a Japanese production of Chicago, participated in Broadway’s Leading Men concert with the American Pops Orchestra and A Broadway Birthday: Sondheim, Lloyd Webber, and Friends, guest starred in a Los Angeles production of Reefer Madness, a South Pacific reunion concert at Lincoln Center, and performed at 54 Below.

At the end of November, Tony winner and fellow Glee alumnus Jonathan Groff announced that his final performance in the Bobby Darrin musical Just in Time would be on March 29, 2026. In January, it was announced that Smash/Newsies star Jeremy Jordan would take over the role of Bobby Darrin on April 21. This week it was announced that Matthew Morrison will have a limited engagement as Bobby Darrin for the three weeks between when Groff leaves and when Jordan takes over.
