“You guys, my mom came to my show tonight!” Hilary says in the video before panning the camera to reveal Rita.
“Honey, you killed it!” she responded. “You crushed it! You really raised your voice. It was amazing!”
Rita, of course, played Hilary‘s mom in the 2004 drama Raise Your Voice, and during her recent run of concerts, Hilary has been performing “Someone’s Watching Over Me,” which she sings in the movie!
“What happens in Vegas….. Well , it can’t stay in Vegas because it’s too much fun and I have to share. Saw my movie daughter @hilaryduff from Raise Your Voice CRUSHING IT at @voltairelv , oh and singing Someone’s Watching Over Me much to my surprise, and loved seeing my friend and fellow songwriter @matthewkoma with his gorgeous wife,” Rita shared on her own Instagram account.
The sweet reunion was on the first night of Hilary‘s residency on Friday (February 13). That same night, she helped a fan with a proposal on stage!
