Emerald Fennell’s Wuthering Heights adaptation won out at the box office this weekend, taking over $33 million over the weekend domestically from 3,600+ theaters, and is projected to make $40 million through the Presidents’ Day holiday tomorrow. Coupled with an international take of $42 million through Monday, the film’s box office will have exceeded its $80 million budget in its first weekend, though legs for a release heavily linked with Valentine’s Day and a B Cinemascore make its prospects for future weekends unclear.

GOAT, an original animated film in a sea of sequels, made $26 million from 3,800 theaters, and will bring in $32 million through President’s Day. The Sony Animation film also cost $80 million to produce, but received an A Cinemascore and has no new animated competition for a while, so it has a good chance for future legs.

Amazon’s Crime 101 did not have a strong start at the box office, making $15.1 through the traditional weekend and is projected to make $17.7 through the holiday. The Amazon film, starring Chris Hemsworth, Halle Berry, Mark Ruffalo and Barry Keoghan, cost $90 million to make and received a B Cinemascore, and while it looks unlikely to be profitable in theaters, the film will likely perform much better on the streaming service.

After two weekends at number one, Send Help fell to fourth place, bringing in $9 million through the weekend and $10.7m through Monday, bringing its totals to $48 million domestically and $72 million worldwide.

The fifth spot at the box office went to the second weekend of Solo Mio, the Kevin James film, which earned $6.2 million and should earn $7.8m through Monday. The Angel Studios produced film has grossed $18 million so far.

Gore Verbinski’s new film Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die came in 7th place, earning $3.6 millon through today and $4.1 million through Monday. The Briarcliff film earned a B Cinemascore. And Neon’s new release Nirvanna The Band the Show the Movie opened to $1.25 million in 365 theaters.
