Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt are sharing the sweet inspiration behind their daughter’s name!
The 32-year-old Saturday Night Live veteran and his girlfriend, 29, welcomed their baby girl Scottie Rose Hewitt Davidson in December.
Pete tells Elite Daily that the second he saw her for the first time, he knew her name was Scottie. The couple had been thinking of a few different names, but Scottie quickly became an early front-runner.

“We always knew that was the one we were going to come back to, because it was the most meaningful. It’s also so cute,” Elsie said.
Scottie was named for Pete‘s dad, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Scott‘s friends nicknamed him “Scottie.”
But The King of Staten Island star says there’s another reason for the name.
“She was conceived in Scotland,” he added.
As for Scottie‘s middle name, Rose, Pete says they chose that because of its connection to Elsie.
“My middle name is Rose, and both of my sisters’ middle names are also Rose, because my mom’s maiden name had Rose in it. So I wanted to have a little special part of them in her name, too,” she explained.
Not long after the baby was born, Pete shared an update on his tattoo removal process.
