Dove Cameron is dishing on her engagement!
The 30-year-old actress and singer got engaged to beau Damiano David back in October, but just only announced it this month.
While appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new movie 56 Days, Dove spilled details on how he proposed and why they waited to confirm the news themselves!

Dove shared that she already knew a proposal was coming at some point, as Damiano was telling her about picking out a ring and when it was finished, but she didn’t know when.
Then, one night when she was in the middle of packing for a trip, the big moment came.
“It was a day I would never have projected. We were packing, and I’m the worst version of myself when I’m packing… I’m in a big t-shirt, no makeup, hair still kind of wet from the shower, and I’m running around like a creature in our house,” she said. “He does that thing, I feel like every girl knows this with their partner. I’m in the hallway and he does that thing, that boyfriend face of, ‘Oh, I love this little silly creature that is in my life.’”
“And I was like no, no, no, no, no. I was so prepared until literally truly right now,” Dove continued. “I ran into the other room panicking, like do I do my nails? What do I do? I gotta be ready. And he goes, ‘Babe…’ It was in our house. I forgot how to function for a minute and my brain broke in half.”
“Then I came out into the living room and he had something in his hand, and he said, ‘I know that some girls want rose petals. I know that you were maybe expecting something big, but our life is so big and it’s full of so many public highs that there’s no romance in that for us anymore,’” she recalled. “‘I wanted to do this here in our home because I want dishes, I want laundry, I want making food together. I want you in your big t-shirt and this is the life that I choose, and I hope you choose the same. Will you marry me?’”
“I cried so much. From the moment I saw him standing, I was sobbing. It was water works.”
She also confirmed the proposal took place in October, and addressed the paparazzi taking photos of them in Australia literally right after getting engaged. (That was the trip she was packing for!)
“We only announced it in January because basically when he proposed, we got on a flight like two hours later and it was a flight to Australia,” she dished. “When we got there, we showered and went out to lunch with our friends, and we got, there was a paparazzi who got us the first day out in our rings.”
“We weren’t planning on announcing it, but then the whole world knew,” Dove added. “So, we announced it really late because we wanted to do it when everything quieted down.
Dove also revealed that she just got confirmation from her label in the past week that her full debut album will finally be released this year!
“I have been working on an album for a very, very long time. I’ve been wanting to release it in a number of different iterations that I hadn’t completed in now… I recently, as in last week, finally got the green light from my label that they say this year is the year to release, finally, my debut album.”
Back in December 2023, she released Alchemical: Volume 1, which was supposed to be the first part of her two-part debut album. Stay tuned for more!
