Kristin Davis hopes Sex and the City returns
The 60-year-old star admitted she’s convincing herself that the recent HBO spinoff show – which ended in July 2025 after three seasons – isn’t actually the end of the franchise, as she admitted she “absolutely wanted one more season” before its conclusion.
Speaking on the Are You A Charlotte? podcast, she said: “This is not based on anything real.
“In my mind, we’re going to do something else. I don’t think it’ll be a whole season, but I think we will do something else.
“But obviously no one knows who owns us right now, you know. So there’s that that’s got to be worked.”
The Charlotte York actress – who is “in denial” and still hasn’t watched the finale of And Just Like That – admitted showrunner Michael Patrick King hasn’t given her a hint of a follow-up.
Noting they’ve met up “a couple times” since, she said: “He doesn’t say that. But I’m just, in my hopeful way, you know, going with that.”
Sarah Jessica Parker – who played Carrie Bradshaw in the original show and its recent spinoff – admitted she’d love to return to the role in the future, but it all depends on the creator.
She told Variety: “I hear lots of very original ideas, all lovely and well intentioned and often very clever, but the only thing that really matters is what excites Michael Patrick King.”
However, Parker insisted that King is “not thinking” about a future Sex and the City project at the moment.
She said: “And right now he’s just not thinking about that.”
In October, Parker claimed she could “just be on hiatus” from the role.
Asked about the decision to bring the series to a conclusion, Sarah told CBS Mornings: “I mean, I’m not certain I understand what that decision means, actually.
“Because I could just be on hiatus, you know.”
