Bo Nix’s wife, Izzy Nix, is showing fans an emotional behind-the-scenes moment after the Denver Broncos quarterback suffered a season-ending injury.
“I snuck this picture because I wanted to remember this moment forever,” Izzy, 27, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Monday, January 19, showing her husband sitting in the corner of what appeared to be a trainer’s room or locker room hallway after the Broncos’ Saturday, January 17, playoff win against the Buffalo Bills.
In the picture, Bo, 25, could be seen sitting on the floor with his ankle extended and his arms crossed — still wearing his uniform and pads from the game — surrounded by four other individuals.
“The joy, followed by the heartbreak, followed by watching each teammate and coach come to this little corner and sit by Bo’s side,” Izzy continued in the social media upload. “God could have placed us anywhere, and I’m so grateful He chose Denver. He is the perfect Author of Bo’s story and we cannot wait to see what HE has in store for this team — We’ll be on the front row, cheering the loudest!!!”
Izzy, who announced in October 2025 that she is expecting the pair’s first child, also added a passage from the Bible, 2 Corinthians 4:16-17, in smaller font.
“So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day,” the verse read. “For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison.”

Broncos head coach Sean Payton shocked the sports world when, after Saturday’s game, he told reporters Bo had broken his ankle and would be out for the remainder of the 2025-2026 postseason.
“Not good news … Bo fractured a bone in his right ankle,” Payton said after his team’s 33-30 win over the Bills. “He’s scheduled to have surgery Tuesday of this week to put him out for the rest of the season.”
Payton continued, “I’ll tell you what, the one thing about it. He’s such a strong, faith-based guy. He was sitting in the hallway with his family, and I went over, and we’re all talking to him. He knows that God has a plan for him. He said he had one in high school, and then he said he had one at Auburn. I said, ‘I didn’t realize that.’ I said, ‘If I would have known that, I wouldn’t have drafted you.’”
Bo will have surgery in Birmingham, Alabama, while backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham prepares to take on the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship game. (The pivotal game will mark Stidham’s first start of the season.)
Bo met his wife while attending Auburn University, where he played quarterback before transferring to the University of Oregon for the 2022 football season. The pair said “I do” two months after Izzy graduated from Auburn in May and before the pair moved to Eugene, Oregon, where Bo spent two seasons playing for the University of Oregon. He was drafted by the Broncos in April 2024.
“The day I met Bo, he told me about this God-sized dream of his,” Izzy wrote via Instagram after Bo was drafted to the NFL. “I will never stop praising the Lord for His faithfulness or have enough words to express how proud I am of you, Bo. Overjoyed and honored to join Broncos country!!!”
