Wicked fans, rejoice!
The films may be over, but Jonathan Bailey and Ariana Grande are set to make a musical reunion in a stage production together.
In a joint Instagram post, the pair announced that they will be starring in a stage production of the musical “Sunday In The Park With George” by Stephen Sondheim.
And, they’ll be heading to London to do it.
The show is confirmed to be running at the Barbican Centre in London starting the summer of 2027.
The post also announced that the show will be directed by Tony award-winning director Marianne Elliott.
Set and costume design for the show will be done by Tom Scutt, who has recently worked on the London production of “Into the Woods” and the Broadway production of “Cabaret.”
While fans do have to wait a year and a half to see the show, tickets are set to go on sale soon, sometime in the spring of 2026 according to the show’s website, sundayintheparkmusical.com.
There is also currently a mailing list you can sign up for in preparation for purchasing tickets.
According to the site, “By joining the mailing list, you’ll receive a full A–Z of how ticketing will work and advance notice of key dates. This is not priority booking, but signing up means you’ll have all the information you need when booking opens.”
In the comments of the announcement post, fans expressed their excitement for the show, and their trepidation about how quickly the tickets will likely sell out.
“Getting tickets for this will be like competing in the hunger games,” one fan said.
“I’m seated. The theater employees are scared and asking me to leave because it’s ‘not 2027 yet’ but I’m simply too seated,” another fan joked.
