Avery Katherine Wood is opening up about her tough breakup.
On January 12, the TikTok star — who boasts nearly 3 million followers on the platform — revealed that she and longtime boyfriend Carson Cope have officially gone their separate ways after nearly four years together. The emotional announcement came via a TikTok filmed from her car, where Avery tearfully shared the news with her fans.
“This video is gonna be very hard to get through, so I’m asking for grace from you guys,” Avery said at the start of the clip.
The influencer went on to explain that the decision wasn’t sudden — or easy. “Carson and I had to make a very [grown-up] decision to go our own separate ways. This was a very hard decision,” she shared. “He is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. And the hardest part about this is that we both love each other so much.”
According to Avery, their breakup came down to timing and growth. While there was no betrayal or dramatic fallout, the couple realized they were simply no longer on the same path.

“Our lives are not currently aligned how they used to be,” she explained. “And then over time, we became puzzle pieces, and our puzzle pieces just don’t fit. And that is not him. That is not me. It is both of us.”
Despite the split, Avery emphasized that there’s still love and mutual respect between them. “The love we still share is real,” she said, adding that the two are still “a team” as they navigate this new chapter.
Avery also asked fans for continued kindness as she processes the breakup. “Grace,” she repeated, requesting “patience and understanding” while she works through the changes in her life.
She echoed that sentiment in the video’s caption, writing, “Some chapters end peacefully. Thank you for your constant love and support 🤍.” The post quickly went viral, racking up more than 7 million views and over 1.2 million likes in just days.
Avery and Carson’s relationship has been part of her online journey from the very beginning. The two met as freshmen in high school, and Carson frequently appeared in Avery’s content as her following grew. Fans watched the couple grow up together, from high school milestones to major life transitions.
When Avery headed to the University of Florida and Carson enrolled at Eastern University in fall 2024, the pair tackled long-distance head-on — something Avery was open about documenting online.
In an April 2024 video reflecting on their relationship, Avery became emotional while discussing how meaningful their bond was. “It, like, actually makes me wanna cry,” she said at the time. “Like, the fact that I found such strong love so early on. I’m just so thankful.” She also used the moment to offer advice to other couples navigating long-distance relationships.
