François Arnaud talks about Heated Rivalry. He said HBO decided to pick up the show two weeks before it premiered and they made the wise choice to air the episodes on the same day as Crave. He said he doesn’t think this show could have been made in the United States though. He said HR was originally set up with another (unnamed) big streamer and they had so many notes and thoughts (which included no kissing until episode 5!) that Jacob Tierney decided not to go with them and have the show made in Canada with a smaller budget so that he could make the show the way he wanted it done.
