    Jessa Duggar Shares Postpartum Weight Loss Tips After Baby

    As a mom of six who is currently six months postpartum with her youngest, Jessa Duggar is sharing her postpartum weight loss tips that helped her drop 15 pounds. Now in a new vlog on her YouTube channel, the reality star is opening up about the fitness routine and diet changes that have been helping her reach her health goals since welcoming baby Edward in July.

    “I’ve managed to lose about 15 pounds in the last couple of months,” Jessa said in the video. “And so that feels really good. I’m only about maybe five pounds out now from my pre-preg weight, which always feels really good. It’s so exciting to be close to those goals.”

    In the video, Jessa admitted she was never a particularly sporty or athletic girl growing up, and she was someone who never stuck to a workout routine for most of her life.

    “I think I just always told myself, like, ‘I’m not that kind of girl,’ like ‘I’m not the super athletic type’ or ‘I’m not, like, a workout girl,’” Jessa explained. “But something I finally realized was the only way you become that is by doing more of that.”

    After having her previous baby, George, who was born in December 2023, Jessa finally committed to a consistent fitness routine.

    She decided to start using a personal trainer through an app called Trainwell, which she continued to use throughout her pregnancy with Edward, with her trainer modifying her moves to account for her baby bump.

    Then after taking a break to heal for a few weeks postpartum, she returned to the program, getting back into the swing of things with guidance from her trainer.

    Another big factor on Jessa’s health journey has been her diet.

    Because she is breastfeeding baby Edward and he has had some particularly bad eczema flare-ups, doctors recommended she eliminate any foods that fall within the nine categories of common allergens—including dairy, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, soy, and sesame.

    “To be honest, the foods that I’ve been avoiding, like going dairy-free for Eddie’s skin, has actually been super helpful for me to just not eat as much of the ice cream and such,” she shared. “That’s not to say I haven’t found some good dairy-free ice cream. But, like, it’s just motivated me to just go ahead and skip a lot of the junk and try to eat as nutritiously as possible.”

    On a day-to-day basis, Jessa has been keeping to a very simple diet of whole foods.

    “I can live on meats, fruits, and veggies just fine,” she said. “And some grain, I’m doing the quinoa. It’s probably the healthiest diet I could be on, so it’s not too restrictive. I try not to feel too sorry for myself.”

    At the end of the day, Jessa’s kids serve as a huge source of motivation for her on her health and fitness journey.

    “It’s really not so much about numbers on the scale as it is just being able to keep up with those babies, you know? Be active, not be out of breath,” she said. “I wanna be able to go out in the backyard and play kickball not only with my kids, but also, Lord willing, with my grandkids one day.”
