Demi Moore is looking back at her marriage to ex-husband Bruce Willis fondly.

During a Q&A with Kate Hudson at a Song Sung Blue screening in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 7, Moore, 63, explained why the movie was important to her. “This is a little personal thing, but Bruce always had every week, Neil Diamond Day,” she revealed. “Watching the movie just kept reminding me of when he would blast Neil Diamond, and I’d say, ‘What’s going on?’ And he said, ‘No, it’s Neil Diamond Day.’”

Moore shares daughters Rumer, 37, Scout, 34, and Tallulah, 31, with Willis, 70, to whom she was married from 1987 until 2000.

At the event on Wednesday, Moore recalled how Willis “played Neil throughout the day” for years, adding, “He was a huge Neil fan. And so am I!”

Keeping it cordial! Demi Moore and Bruce Willis have managed to stay close after ending their marriage in 2000 — and their friendly relationship is the definition of coparenting goals. The Die Hard star and Moore tied the knot in 1987 after meeting at the premiere for the buddy cop film Stakeout, which starred Moore’s […]

Though their marriage came to an end, Moore and Willis still remained close over the years. Moore moved on with Ashton Kutcher, who she was married to from 2005 to 2013. Willis, for his part, got married to Emma Heming Willis in 2009. The couple share two daughters.

“I still love Demi. We’re very close. We have three children whom we will continue to raise together, and we’re probably as close now as we ever were,” Willis told Rolling Stone in December 2000. “We realize we have a lifelong commitment to our kids. Our friendship continues. The institution has been set aside.”

In March 2022, Willis’ family revealed that he was diagnosed with the language disorder aphasia. His condition eventually progressed to frontotemporal dementia.

“This is a really challenging time for our family and we are so appreciative of your continued love, compassion and support,” read a statement shared in 2023. “We are moving through this as a strong family unit, and wanted to bring his fans in because we know how much he means to you, as you do to him. As Bruce always says, ‘Live it up’ and together we plan to do just that.”

Moore has since shown support for the Die Hard actor and Heming Willis.

Bruce Willis and Emma Heming Willis have been by each other’s side since their early 2000s meet-cute. The duo met in 2007 while working out at their mutual trainer’s gym. After two years of dating, Emma and Bruce walked down the aisle in Turks and Caicos. Six days later, they wed again in a civil […]

“Being the ex-wife, even though our family is very connected, is an interesting position,” Moore said during a September 2025 podcast appearance. “So much fell on Emma to really figure this whole thing out, and the most beautiful thing was recognizing the importance for caregivers and that they have to take care of themselves. If they don’t put that time into making sure that they’re OK, then they can’t show up for anyone else.”

Moore’s was “showing up and being present” for her loved ones. “It’s so important just to meet them where they’re at,” she explained. “Don’t have a particular expectation of them needing to be who they were or who you want them to be. When you do that, I find that there is an incredible sweetness and something that’s soft and tender and loving. Perhaps it is more playful and child-like in a certain sense because of how much more caretaking they need.”

She continued: “If you project where it’s going, it only creates anxiety. If you replay where it was and what you’ve lost, it only creates anxiety and grief. There’s still so much of him there, it may not always be verbal, but it is beautiful given the givens.”
