In case you missed it, former Disney flop Ashley Tisdale recently wrote an article for The Cut complaining about a “toxic” and “mean” mom group. She says that she was left out of a couple of get togethers, and seated further away from others at a dinner with the hostess. When she texted the group to tell them that it was too high school for her and she wasn’t going to take part anymore, they tried to smooth it over and another sent her flowers, but Tiz complains that after she thanked her for the flowers she didn’t respond.
The internet quickly went wild and figured out that she was likely talking about a celebrity mom group she was in with Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor. People speculated that Ashley Tisdale was MAGA and that could’ve been the reason. Now we have a bit more information on what might’ve happened…
A source spoke to The Sun and said that Ashley Tisdale had been drifting apart from the group for years. “Her politics don’t align with a lot of the group members, which drove a wedge between them.” (Ashley infamously defended Charlie Kirk in the wake of his death)
But apparently the final straw was how Ashley handled the LA fires that happened last year. Multiple members of the mom group were impacted by the fires and Ashley barely checked in. Mandy lost her home and went and lived with Hilary. “She didn’t offer to help with the means she has. She just lived her own life, didn’t check in to see how they were doing, and her friends felt abandoned by her.
“Her friends felt the amount of self-absorption she showed just got worse, and it was impossible to maintain a friendship with her since it was so one-sided. It seemed like she was only interested in things that benefited her or suited her interests.”
In addition, Ashley’s comments about politics and some of her social media posts (probably the Charlie Kirk one) made the other ladies uncomfortable. They questioned her morals and what she believed in. The source also points out that it’s not just this group that had issues with Ashley. Vanessa Hudgens and her used to be best friends for years and no longer are. Ashley didn’t even attend Vanessa’s wedding last year.
The girls were hurt by the article Ashley wrote and felt like she took no accountability, was just trying to deflect and get ahead of the story in case anyone from the group spoke out about it in the future.

Hilary Duff’s husband Matthew Koma, known to troll, posted an Instagram story mocking The Cut article. He captioned it “A mom group tell all through a father’s eyes: When You’re the Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person on Earth, Other Moms Tend to Shift Focus To Their Actual Toddlers.” which seemingly corroborates what the source told The Sun.
Hilary Duff’s new album drops Feb 20th. Lettuce pray there’s a song on the album about this! This is the gossip in 2026 we deserve 🥲
