Jade Roper shared that an AI-generated Christmas portrait featuring her family included an unexpected addition.
Alongside Jade, her husband Tanner Tolbert, and their three children — sons Reed, 5, and Brooks, 6, and daughter Emerson, 8 — another boy appeared in the picture, according to her Instagram Stories posts shared on Saturday, December 27.
The former reality star believes the boy is Beau, the son the couple lost in a miscarriage in 2023. “Did the Norman Rockwell holiday trend and an extra boy was in our image,” Jade wrote, “and it touched my heart, because of course Beau would want to make the family photo. 🥰.”
Jade then asked the AI chatbot to remove the extra child so the portrait would reflect their family of five, as in the original reference image. The updated image, however, didn’t feel quite right. “But now it just sort of feels empty,” she shared alongside the revised photo.
Jade has been open about her pregnancy loss.
On August 13, 2023, Jade wrote about her experience in an Instagram post, “I’ve been struggling with what to write here as I’ve been navigating a miscarriage. Our lives, to love and to complete our family. While our hearts are completely broken and we have been dealing with the deep and complex grief of the loss, we have been blessed to be touched by his soul for his short amount of time. I am forever changed.”
She added details about the miscarriage, writing, “I’m currently experiencing what is called a missed miscarriage, so while his heart has stopped and he has stopped growing (for some time now), my body hasn’t released the pregnancy yet. I am hoping to do this naturally and am trusting in timing and in my body under the care of my provider.”
“I’ve been carrying him with so much pride and cherish every moment still left with part of him, but it has also been equally as challenging and devastating,” Roper said.
“So while I hold my belly here, our sweet baby’s body is resting in my womb as his soul soars. We love you with every piece of our hearts, baby Beau ❤️.”
