Jacob Tierney is spilling a little tea about the upcoming Heated Rivalry season finale.

The hit Crave original series, based on the book of the same name by Rachel Reid, will air it’s last episode of it’s first season next week.

In a new interview, Jacob, who serves as creator, writer and director, teased the finale episode, as well as the possibility of a longer second season.

“You’re going to finally get the joy that we wanted from the beginning — just queer joy, pure happiness and sweetness and love and all that other good stuff,” he told Gold Derby about the final two episodes. “I’m confident in these last two episodes.”

“My favorite scenes are all in Episodes 5 and 6. They’re such different episodes,” Jacob shared. “Episode 5 is so big and so much happens and 6 is so small and so intimate. I just watched the finale this morning because I had to sign off on a bunch of things and it’s so nice to be with the two of them for that long. Those moments matter to me.”

“There are so many scenes in the fifth episode that are heartbreaking and also funny and sweet and cute,” he continued. “And then Episode 6 is like a little two-hander that’s so wonderful. It will give our obsessive fans two big needle drops, so get ready for two new favorite songs.”

He also addressed fan theories that the season will end on a cliffhanger.

“It doesn’t matter if they know what’s coming because if you do any amount of Googling, you’re going to find out how the f–king show ends! It’s the journey,” Jacob said. “I keep reading people [saying] it’s going to end on a cliffhanger. I don’t comment but the last episode is called ‘The Cottage.’”

Many fans want more episodes of the show, and since the first season became so popular are hoping that season two will be longer.

“I don’t know if you’re going to get that. But you’re going to get a lot of content,” Jacob teased about season two. “Everyone’s pretty committed to this universe, in this world. So it’s going to be OK. It’s going to be good.”
