Influencer Abbie Herbert is opening up about the health condition she faced when having her baby, and how the internet helped her realize what was going on.

Abbie, who welcomed her son, Rocky Blue, with her husband, Josh Herbert, on December 6, is opening up about the unusual circumstances that led to the baby’s early delivery.

In two new TikTok videos, Abbie addressed the health condition that internet sleuths pointed out for her leading up to their baby’s birth.

In the first TikTok, she donned a blue set while snuggling her newborn baby in her arms.

The video contained on-screen text saying, “Me after posting a vlog scratching my hands and the internet told me to tell my doctor and I ended up having an emergency c section 2 days later.”

In the caption, Abbie added, “Literally the internet saved me and baby from a very dangerous situation.”

Then, in a second video posted the following day, Abbie spoke in depth about the situation.

“Social media saved my son from a very serious and very dangerous situation that I had no idea [about],” she said in the video. “If I did not share what I did on social media, this could have been very dangerous.”

She then went on to explain that she wanted to put out new vlogs every day in the month of December to document the weeks leading up to her baby’s arrival.

“In one of my, like, first or second vlogs, I included a clip where I’m just scratching my hands, and then I started seeing comments of people saying if my hands are itchy and my feet are itchy, I need to let my doctor know immediately,” she continued.

Abbie admitted that at first, she didn’t think much of it because she didn’t think the itching was severe enough to warrant medical attention.

Then, people in her comments started mentioning the term “cholestasis” which stuck in her mind.

After a long day doing a photoshoot for a campaign, Abbie suddenly noticed something that raised alarm bells for her.

“I looked at my hands and I had this rash on both of my palms,” she explained. “I was not itchy whatsoever, but it looked like I had broken blood vessels all throughout my hands.”

Abbie decided to take a picture of her hands and sent it off to her doctor to see what he thought.

“He immediately called me and said ‘we need to do some bloodwork,’” she shared.

When the bloodwork came back a few days later, unfortunately, things were not looking good.

The results indicated that she did, in fact, have cholestasis as many of her fans had predicted.

“At 4:30am, I got a notification that my lab results were back. It said [the result was] abnormal, when I clicked on it, it said my levels were extremely high,” Abbie said.

By 6:00am that day, her doctor let her know she needed to come to the hospital and have the baby via C-section immediately.

“[Cholestasis] can turn fast,” she warned. “Levels can change every 24 hours. The higher they get, the more severe it gets with the baby placenta.”

Abbie then explained that she is extremely grateful to every person that mentioned the condition in her comments because had she not gotten checked out, the results could have been severe for her and her son

“What keeps blowing my mind is, is that fact that, like, I really didn’t have that many symptoms,” she continued. “And the fact that you guys saw that, like, I never really called it out, you just saw me scratching my hands, makes me so emotional, because I don’t even wanna think what could have happened if I didn’t go get blood work.”

She then urged her followers to always play it safe with their health, especially when pregnant, even if it seems like it may be nothing.

In the caption of the video, Abbie wrote, “Thank you to every single person that told me to get checked 🤍🥹 I love you all so much and I’m so grateful to have this platform + followers like YOU 🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵”
