We welcomed the Halloween Chapter into The Fog a little over nine years ago, but the time has come for us to say goodbye to Lampkin Lane. On Monday, the developers and flops over at Behaviour Interactive announced that the Halloween chapter will be leaving DBD on January 19, 2026 after 9 years. Halloween was the first licensed chapter the devs secured in October 2016, putting Dead by Daylight on the map. All is not last as the content will remain in-game, so for anyone who purchased Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, you get to keep them and continue to play them in-game. However, the Haddonfield map will be removed on January 19, and no one will be able to purchase Myers and Strode after that date.
DBD previously lost the Stranger Things license in November 17, 2021, but that chapter (and the Hawkins map) eventually returned 2 years later in November 2023. They even recently announced a Stranger Things Chapter 2, due in January 2026.
Earlier this year, they also lost the Hellraiser chapter on April 4, 2025.
Both the Halloween and Hellraiser licenses were most likely lost due to their own games coming out in 2026.
