Taylor Swift had an extra special cheerleader by her side this weekend — her best friend, Selena Gomez.

The longtime BFFs were spotted together for the very first time at Arrowhead Stadium on December 7, where they watched Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Houston Texans. Fans inside the stadium quickly picked up on the star power in the suites, and the sightings spread across social media in seconds.

One fan on X claimed he noticed Taylor and Selena sitting in a suite with their friend Lena Dunham, while another joked about missing the moment entirely, writing, “My parents are sitting next to taylor swift and selena gomez rn im ABOUT TO CRASH OUT.”

Taylor and Selena kept things cozy for their girls’ day out, dressing for the chilly December weather. Taylor wore a long gray coat, while Selena opted for a chic black faux-fur jacket as they chatted with friends inside the private box. Cameras caught Taylor a handful of times during the broadcast — smiling, focused, and visibly invested — even as the Chiefs ultimately fell to the Texans with a 20–10 loss.

This marks Taylor’s first time back at a Chiefs game since November 24, when she cheered on Travis during the team’s win against the Indianapolis Colts. And while her appearances have become a little more low-key than her early-season debut in September 2023, there’s a reason Swifties don’t see her on the jumbotron every five minutes.

Chiefs president Mark Donovan explained the team’s approach during the Up and Adams Show on December 1. “For a couple of years, all those shots you see of Taylor in the stadium—he scores a touchdown, he makes a catch, it goes to Taylor, especially the first year,” he said. “We never showed Taylor on our big boards in our stadium, never. It was respectful. We’re not going to do that.”

Behind the scenes, Travis has made it clear just how much he appreciates Taylor showing up for him — and how seriously she’s taken her new role as a member of Chiefs Kingdom. “I am forever thankful for you diving into the football world,” he told her on New Heights in August. “Whole-heartedly.”
