Jessica Simpson is officially in full holiday mode — and this year, she’s letting fans in on the family moments that matter most.
The “With You” singer, 45, shared a rare new photo of her and estranged husband Eric Johnson’s three kids — Maxwell, 13, Ace, 12, and Birdie, 6 — as they helped her kick off December in the most festive way possible. The siblings posed in front of twinkling Christmas décor for what Jessica described as a moment that captures everything she loves about the season.
“Christmas time is here!” she captioned the Dec. 4 Instagram post. “What the month of December brings to my kiddos has always been about the genuine feelings of love, excitement, hope, happiness, grace and pure JOY!” She added a sweet message to fans: “Wishin’ you and yours all the many blessings this month has to offer y’all’s hearts.”
In the photo, Max and Ace rest their arms on little Birdie’s head — a very sibling move — while Birdie beams up at the camera. It’s a rare glimpse of the Simpson-Johnson crew all together as they settle into the holiday spirit.
The post comes just a week after Jessica opened up about how her family handled Thanksgiving following her split from Eric, whom she separated from in January after nearly 10 years of marriage. Despite the breakup, Jessica made it clear that holiday traditions — and family unity — still come first.
“It’s my kids’ father,” she told TMZ on Nov. 28, confirming Eric joined them at her mother Tina’s house for the holiday. “Family first.” She added, “No matter what, your kid is half the other person. Always have respect in what you say around [your kids] so they can always have a good perspective on it.” For Jessica, “Unconditional love is important.”
The former couple has stayed true to that message. Back in September, Jessica and Eric even reunited to support her sister Ashlee Simpson during her Las Vegas residency. “We are all a big, happy family, so it’s important for all of us,” Jessica told E! News at the time. “We wouldn’t have missed Ashlee, are you kidding me? It was such a moment.”
And if there’s one thing the Simpson-Johnson kids have inherited from their mom, it’s her bold personality — especially Birdie, who recently dressed up as Jessica for spirit week at school. In October, Jessica proudly shared photos of her youngest wearing denim cutoffs, a high ponytail, and a T-shirt featuring her mom’s face. “Today is dress as your favorite artist for spirit week at school and Bird wanted to dress up as meeeeee,” she wrote.
