Simon Cowell says he’s feeling younger than ever, crediting a major lifestyle overhaul and a unique wellness routine for what he describes as aging “backwards.”

In an interview with The Sun, Cowell detailed his routine. “I go to this place, this wellness clinic, where they actually take your blood, they rinse it, they filter it and then they put it back into your body.”

“You do all these tests, and they tell you your age, so I’ve actually aged backwards by eating better, more exercise, less stress, and certain supplements. My brain is still there, I still have the energy.”

Cowell’s focus on his health intensified after a serious back injury in 2020. During an interview on the Today Show, he reflected on the accident, which happened while he was testing out an electric bicycle.

“It was painful. It wasn’t great,” Cowell told host Jason Kennedy alongside his America’s Got Talent co-stars Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, Heidi Klum and Terry Crews. “However, I was so unfit before the accident.”

“I didn’t know how unfit I was until I had to do all this stuff afterwards,” he continued. “And I’m like, ‘My God.’ Things like that I believe happen for a reason.”

Following his accident, Cowell had to endure a six-hour surgery. But Cowell is grateful that he avoided a worse fate.

“It could have been a lot worse. When I saw the X-ray, I really nearly smashed my spine to pieces, so I literally wouldn’t (have) been able to walk,” he told Extra in February of 2021.

In the years since, Cowell has adopted healthier habits, cutting back on sugar, exercising regularly, and finding ways to reduce stress, all of which he credits for improving both his appearance and overall well-being.

This wellness-focused chapter follows Cowell’s candid acknowledgment of going too far with cosmetic injectables. In a 2022 interview with The Sun, he admitted that filler and Botox had altered his appearance so much that he barely recognized himself.

“There was a stage where I might have gone a bit too far. I saw a picture of me from ‘before’ the other day and didn’t recognize it as me.”

Even his son had a terrible reaction to his looks.

“Eric was in hysterics,” Cowell said, indicating that that was the moment that pushed him to stop the treatments entirely. “Enough was enough. There is no filler in my face at all now. Zero.”

Cowell and his fiancée Lauren Silverman welcomed Eric in 2014.
