Robyn Brown allegedly wasn’t pleased to watch her husband Kody Brown’s Special Forces feuds play out — at least, according to his costar Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia.
“I went out to dinner last night with Shawn Johnson East, Andrew East and Gia Giudice from the show, and they had seen Kody previous to dinner,” LaPaglia, 25, claimed on a Tuesday, November 18, finale of her “BFFs” podcast. “They were like, ‘Where’s your wife? Where’s Robyn?’”
Kody, 56, reportedly explained that Robyn, 47, simply “couldn’t come” along on his post-finale press trip to New York City.
“[He claimed], if she did come, she was going to murder me,” LaPaglia said, stifling a laugh. “Are you crazy? I have a Mormon Sister Wife who wants to skin me alive? I couldn’t even f***ing believe it. First of all, what did I do? If you guys are watching Special Forces, I think I was the nicest one to him on the show. I was doing, like, gentle parenting.”
Robyn has not publicly addressed LaPaglia’s accusations. Us Weekly has reached out for comment.
LaPaglia and Kody both competed on season 4 of Special Forces, in which many of their fellow recruits were generally bothered by the TLC star’s demeanor and unwillingness to work cooperatively in teams.
In the Thursday, November 20, finale, LaPaglia and Kody were among the five remaining recruits to face a grueling interrogation simulation. At one point, LaPaglia called Kody “creepy” moments before he declined to stop the military operatives from forcing LaPaglia, Johnson East, 33, and Giudice, 24, from holding heavy sandbags for an extended period of time.
Any animosity has since been put behind LaPaglia and Kody, though.
“I was very nice to him today. We were very calm and collected,” she said on Tuesday. “We took pictures together. We did podcasts together. We did press together, [and now] his wife wants to put a gun to my head, said that she ‘couldn’t come to press because she was going to kill me.’”
LaPaglia further revealed that she’s “never seen” nor met Robyn — or even “said anything about her.”
“After my experience today with Kody from Sister Wives, I can never wrap my head around if he’s either misunderstood, if he’s just bad or what,” the Barstool Sports personality said. “I’m just leaving it as I feel bad, and I don’t want to touch it anymore. I think he’s got a bunch of screws loose, and I don’t want to make fun of him.”
LaPaglia has since told Us Weekly that she goes “back and forth” about how she feels about Kody.
“I spent the most time with Kody Brown on the show. Every car ride, when we’re driving from [the] base to these challenges, can be upwards of an hour to an hour and a half,” LaPaglia exclusively told Us ahead of Thursday’s finale. “You don’t have a phone, Kody likes to talk, so I learned everything about Kody. I felt like I was the closest with Cody on the show. Therefore, I could say these things to him, and listen, we’re just not the same.”
She continued, “I think he’s just all over the place, and he does mean well in the sense of the show. I didn’t know who he was before, so I think that changes the way I view him when I see stuff after the show, but on the show, he worked so hard. I mean, that guy is almost 60, and he’s in front of every leaderboard, every challenge, like, he really put his heart into the show, which I do admire and commend, and he didn’t complain at all.”
