Real Housewives of Potomac alum Mia Thornton made headlines in November 2025 when she was arrested in Atlanta.

Why Was ‘RHOP’ Alum Mia Thornton Arrested?
Thornton was arrested by Atlanta police on November 19 at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to a statement from the Atlanta Police Department. She was then booked into the Fulton County Jail “without incident.”
According to police, Thornton was taken into custody because she had an active warrant “related to a larceny involving an alleged furniture theft.”

The arrest took place after a property management company called police on behalf of their client, who owns the condo unit that Thornton rented, after furniture was allegedly taken from the property “in the middle of the night” on October 28, according to a police report viewed by People.
Additionally, her former landlord claimed that “the tenants also took all of the furniture which was in the unit prior to their move in as well as the tv which was on the wall.”
The stolen items approximately cost $11,000, per the report.
Who Is ‘RHOP’ Alum Mia Thronton?
Thornton is best known for appearing on Bravo’s RHOP. She made her debut during season 6 and remained on the show until the end of season 9. After she left the reality show, Thornton relocated to Atlanta.
Outside of her reality TV career, Thornton is the CEO of The House of Miamor. According to the company’s website, they offer a “step-by-step guide to unlocking business ownership and financial freedom through franchising.”
Why Did Mia Thornton Leave ‘RHOP’?
She announced her exit from the show in April 2025 in a lengthy Instagram post.
“With every new season comes a new beginning and I have some news to share. My family and I have made the decision to relocate to Atlanta, and with that, I will not be returning to The Real Housewives of Potomac next season,” she began.
Thornton went on to reflect on the “unforgettable journey” of appearing on the show, which she said included “growth, lessons and so many incredible memories.”
