Onyeka Ehie, a contestant on Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor, has made a viral 27-part TikTok series about being scammed by her Danish ex-husband. It is called The Danish Deception.
They met when Onyeka and a friend were on a girls’ trip in Croatia. She boasted about buying herself a Chanel handbag, and that’s apparently how he chose her as a target. He bought her a designer bag and some designer sunglasses. But soon, he began asking her for thousands of dollars in “loans.”
They got married after four months.
His lies included that:
Onyeka made a high income and had a lot in savings, but she ended up supporting them both financially. Despite their money troubles, they took lavish trips regularly, plus flew between Denmark and Texas often.
He kept pretending that the Danish bank put a freeze on his assets because of his move to the U.S., hence why he never had money. At one point, Onyeka even saw that he had only 34 cents in his account…but she chose to stay with him.
As it turned out, he had a gambling addiction. He even swindled one of his friends $200,000.
Onyeka never uses his name, but it’s pretty obvious, as she has only one Danish ex-husband. Their page on The Knot is even still up. This is what he looks like: [Spoiler (click to open)]
