Selling the OC’s Alex Hall is back on the market after her romance with Ian Young.
During an Instagram Q&A on Saturday, November 15, the Oppenheim Group real estate agent was asked if she is still “with your bf who was on the show.”
“No….and it’s been a complete cluster f***,” Hall replied. “I moved to Temecula with an open heart but some things came to light that did not align with what I want mine and my kids’ future to look like.”
Hall’s rep, Nik Richie, confirmed to Us Weekly that the relationship is over. Us has also reached out to Young for comment.
While Hall was previously living in Orange County, California, she revealed in season 4 of Selling the OC that she was moving to a new city and county with Young.
Now that the relationship hasn’t worked out, Hall is unsure what will happen next in terms of her own real estate plans.
“I no longer have my home in [Orange County’s] San Clemente and all of my furniture and belongings are currently in a storage facility and the kids and I are in a short term rental in Dana Point,” she said. “We are looking for a new home but haven’t found one yet. Sometimes you can have the best intentions but reality just doesn’t play out the way you imagined it would 💔.”
Season 4 of Selling the OC documented Hall in a new chapter of her life as she found a new love while working to rebuild a friendship with her former coworker, Tyler Stanaland.

While much of the cast — including Stanaland — was a fan of Young, Oppenheim Group agent Gio Helou expressed doubts about the relationship.
“[Alex] is lowering that bar way too far,” he said in season 4. “He’s just a little puppy dog following her around, and maybe she’s dating the opposite of what Tyler is to try to get over him.”
Before season 4 premiered on Wednesday, November 12, Hall — the host of the “Pretty Dirty” podcast — reiterated to Us that her move to Temecula, California, didn’t mean she was saying goodbye to Orange County for good.
In fact, she joked about hosting a party for the cast at her new home in season 5.
“I am still very much in Orange County. We bought a house in Temecula. There’s just so many moving parts that it’s just taking a lot longer to get to where we want to be,” she exclusively told Us at the time. “And now, I’ve got my place in Orange County. My business is here. My career is here, kids, family, all of the things. So we’re still writing the chapters.”
Although Hall is newly single, she is not interested in any romantic relationship with Stanaland. Instead, the pair remain friends as Stanaland enjoys his engagement to Hannah Morrissey.
“I think we both said what we needed to say, and then some,” Hall said about their reunion in season 4. “We’re both just in really good places in our lives right now, and I don’t think there’s much more than that we can ask for other than that.”
Selling the OC season 4 is streaming now on Netflix.
