If you’ve been on TikTok this week, you’ve probably heard the name Scott Kelly.

On November 10, TikTok user @your.girl.jen posted a video of the man in front of her at a Jonas Brothers concert scrolling through the resume for a man named Scott Kelly.

In the on-screen text, she wrote, “scott kelly your resume was being reviewed at a jonas brothers concert tonight. good luck.”

The short, seven-second video quickly went viral online and has received over 52 million views at the time of publication.

The video went so viral that even the Jonas Brothers themselves saw it, each commenting to playfully vouch that Kelly should get the job, even though they had never met him.

Or, rather, they hadn’t met him yet at the time of the viral video.

Now, the viral sensation and the three brothers have become well acquainted thanks to a little help from Jimmy Fallon, who took it upon himself to orchestrate a meeting between them on the latest episode of The Tonight Show.

With the Jonas Brothers already seated on the stage, Fallon revealed he had a surprise for them as he welcomed Kelly to come on out and formally meet them.

After Kelly shook all of their hands, Joe Jonas said to the audience excitedly, “I know this is Scott Kelly because I saw his LinkedIn. This is definitely him.”

“Yeah, they found me!” Kelly responded, grinning. Fallon then asked him to catch everyone up on how things have been for him the past few days.

“It’s been an interesting week,” Kelly began. He then explained that while he was sitting in one of his classes for his MBA program, a friend texted him to inform him that he was going viral on TikTok.

Because Kelly didn’t even have an account on TikTok, he naturally didn’t believe his friend. Then, as more people began to message him about it, Kelly finally took the plunge and downloaded TikTok to see the video for himself. After seeing it with his own eyes, Kelly finally realized that he was, in fact, the subject of the viral video.

Kelly also explained that the video, which was posted the night before Veterans Day, also ended up having very special timing. It turned out that Kelly and the man who was reviewing his resume in the video had been in the same infantry battalion in the U.S. Army in 2014, and they were now both working as civilians in upstate New York.

After Kelly gave everyone a bit of backstory, naturally, there was one important question that Fallon then had to ask: “Did you get the job?”

“So, I never actually applied for a job,” Kelly explained, much to the confusion of the audience, Fallon, and the Jonas Brothers.

The reason the man in the video was looking at Kelly’s resume was that he is the president of a home services company in Buffalo, New York. As a veteran himself, he likes to be on the lookout for other veteran talent he could try to bring into the company.

While Kelly isn’t planning on joining the company, some good news still came out of the two connecting.

“He and I are gonna link up, he’s actually coming on a podcast that I host called ‘At the Water’s Edge.’ It’s a national security podcast, and we’re gonna be talking about how the veteran community can do more to help each other when we transition out of service, cuz it’s a rough ride for most of us,” Kelly shared.

The Jonas Brothers sat in awe, listening to Kelly’s story, before Joe said, “This is awesome,” and Kevin Jonas added, “I’m, like, in shock!”

“Can I share a real thing? I had never heard of you before this. My wife had to tell me,” Kelly admitted, while the audience laughed. “I didn’t have Disney Channel growing up! I didn’t know!”

He then quickly clarified, “Hey, I’m a huge fan now! I love you guys,” to which Joe responded, “We love you, Scott Kelly!” as the audience applauded.
