Today the nation is hurting. We lost Coach John Beam. A lot of folks met him through Netflix and “Last Chance U” but out here in the Bay he was already a legend long before the cameras showed up.

Beam, the athletic director at Laney College and a former football coach, died Friday, the day after he was shot on campus.
The shooter was a 27yr old man. This individual played football but never with Coach Beam.
The shooting is noted as targeted (vs general mass casualty??) but any relationship between the two individuals is not known. News stations report the two knew each other. The suspect was calmly taken into custody.

I never watched this show but I am aware that he was highly regarded.
