Steven “Steve” McBee Sr.’s kids are savoring every moment with their father before he begins his prison sentence.
“We’re just spending as much time as we can with him and making sure that we prioritize family time [like] spending dinners over there with him and just leaning on one another for support,” Steven McBee Jr. exclusively shared with Us Weekly while attending BravoCon 2025 on Friday, November 14. “I think that’s the central theme of our show before my dad’s situation — and even more so now — is with family. You can get through anything 100 percent.”
Cole McBee added, “We’ve been trying to spend as much time as we can with him before he leaves, but we’re gonna work through this together. It’s a tough position in our life, but we’re going to get through anything.”
On October 16, Steve, 52, was sentenced to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty for his role in a multi-million dollar crop insurance fraud.
Bravo’s McBee Dynasty, which aims to immerse viewers in the ongoing saga of the McBee family as they strive to rescue their farm and cattle ranch from financial ruin, was renewed for season 3 before Steve was sentenced.
During the patriarch’s legal drama, Steven, 32, revealed on the “Unlocked” podcast that it felt like the family was “wearing the scarlet letter” everywhere they went as a result of his father’s actions.
While attending his first BravoCon in Las Vegas, Steven further explained what he meant.
“For us, it was going into every single conversation — whether it was personally or professionally — you could feel it in the air regarding my dad’s situation,” he explained to Us. “To have that closing with the sentencing, it’s finality. It’s ‘Hey, this is over now. We can move on and start progressing in our lives.’ I think all of us felt a weight lifted off of our shoulders, even though it wasn’t what we wanted with sentencing.”

Although some family members thought the sentence was a little “tough,” they commend Steve for remaining positive during all of the changes.
“He’s doing good. He’s one of the most optimistic, positive people you ever meet,” Cole told Us. “I think that’s kept us sane going through all this. He says, ‘Hey, you guys are gonna get through this no matter what happens. We’re going to work through it.’ He tells us that every morning and every day, he’s like, ‘I’m going to be OK. It’s up to you guys.’”
Jesse McBee added, “You wouldn’t even realize what he was going through, just because he’s so positive. This is what he’s kind of prepared us for, anyway.”
Despite any and all legal drama, there is still much to celebrate in the McBee family.
Steven recently hard launched a relationship with his new girlfriend, Allie Eklund, on social media, while Cole recently got engaged to Kacie Adkison. In addition, Jesse is loving life with his baby girl.
“We’re going to focus on the positives,” Steven said at BravoCon 2025. “We have the new babies, the engagement, the wedding, and we’re going to get through this as a family. We’ll figure it out.”
McBee Dynasty is streaming now on Peacock.
