Whitney Leavitt is once again stirring the pot in Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives — and fans are wondering whether she’s really done with MomTok for good.
The new season, which premiered Thursday, November 13, wastes no time diving into the aftermath of Season 2’s drama. At the start of the season, Whitney was noticeably missing from filming, leading fans to speculate she’d quit the group again. Her absence reportedly stemmed from a contract issue, though some wondered if tension with her castmates had something to do with it.
During Season 2, Whitney had fought to rejoin MomTok after walking away at the end of Season 1. But while she managed to regain her spot, her relationships with Mikayla Matthews and the other moms never fully recovered. Meanwhile, Demi Engemann took over as the group’s main villain after her failed attempt to push Taylor Frankie Paul out.
By the time Season 3 rolled around, both Whitney and Demi were out — at least for a bit. But off-camera, the pair stayed close, showing up together at influencer events and fueling talk of an “alliance.” Eventually, Whitney returned to filming, showing up at Miranda McWhorter’s over-the-top birthday bash. However, when she and her husband, Conner, arrived, several castmates, including Mayci Neeley, Mikayla and Jessi Ngatikaura, immediately walked away.
So why did Whitney come back at all? As it turns out, she had a strategic reason. During a tense MomTok meeting, Whitney revealed she’d learned that returning to film would make her eligible to audition for Dancing with the Stars.
“I just found out that if I came back to film, I can audition for Dancing with the Stars,” Whitney explained. A former dance major, Whitney said it was her dream — and she was determined to make it happen. “But I know two things for sure. One, I’m clearly not welcome in MomTok. And two, I’m gonna get Dancing with the Stars. She’s back!”
Sure enough, Whitney landed a coveted DWTS spot alongside co-star Jen Affleck, pairing up with fan-favorite pro Mark Ballas. The move sparked controversy due to her dance background — and rumors of tension between her and Jen carried right onto the ballroom floor.
Though Whitney insists her comeback was “strictly business,” her return has reignited the chaos that makes The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives must-see TV.
Season 3 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is currently streaming on Hulu.
