June Squibb is gushing over her friendship with Chris Colfer!
The 96-year-old actress and the 35-year-old actor turned author first met when she guest starred in the season five episode of Glee, “Old Dog, New Trick,” which Chris actually wrote.
Eleven and a half years later, the pair are still good friends, and in a new interview, she dished on their lasting friendship.

“We are heavy duty buddies,” she told Amy Poehler on her Good Hang podcast. “We worked together so closely [on Glee]… it was a long shoot and I just sort of got to know him and I liked him a lot. So, we started then having dinner together, and he has a great partner, Will Sherrod, who I adore too. It was just great fun.”
Amy then asked June what she learns from or gets out of people that are younger, as she feels like people ask her for wisdom.
“Oh, no. No. They know they’re not going to get it. So, they don’t ask that at all from me in any way,” June replied.
As for what she’s learned from Chris and other younger friends, she says she doesn’t know.
“I just, if I like someone, I don’t think I ever think in terms of how old they are,” she shared. “If I feel an affinity, that there’s something here that I want to be more a part of… I mean, why would I tell anyone what to do?”
Recently, June has starred in Scarlett Johansson‘s directorial debut Eleanor the Great, which debuted in theaters in September. She will next have a voice role in Zootopia 2.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Chris‘ hit children’s book “The Land of Stories” is getting a live-action movie adaptation!
