Mason Thames is poised to make history with this weekend’s box office!
The 18-year-old actor stars in the top movies – Black Phone 2 and Regretting You, which were both released in back-to-back weeks in October.
According to THR, this has been the worst Halloween weekend in 31 years at the box office, but it’s still good news for Mason overall.
However, there is one pic that is projected to come out on top.

As of Sunday (November 2), Regretting You takes the top spot with $8.1 million in it’s second weekend, while Black Phone 2 has racked up an additional $8 million for it’s third weekend.
These are currently projections and the final numbers will be available on Monday.
If Regretting You takes the No 1 spot, Mason will have three No 1 movies at the domestic box office this year!
This will make him the first actor to achieve this feat since Jim Carrey in 1994 with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Mask and Dumb and Dumber.
Mason shared a post pointing this out on his Instagram story, writing, “Grateful.”
If you missed it, while How to Train Your Dragon hit theaters earlier this year, he is returning to start production on the sequel this weekend!
