An animated Hello Kitty movie from Warner Bros has been announced for July 21, 2028.
In a press statement, WB said, “The film marks Hello Kitty’s Hollywood theatrical debut as Hello Kitty and her friends embark on a cinematic adventure sure to delight audiences of all ages.”
Leo Matsuda is attached to direct with Dana Fox (Wicked/The Lost City/Cruella) as the most recent scriptwriter (this project has been in development hell since at least 2019). This will be Matsuda’s first feature film as a director though he has previously worked on films as an artist for Disney, Dreamworks, and Sony.
