It’s that time of year again… the leaves are falling, the air is crisp, and influencer Tana Mongeau is once again setting the bar for fabulous Halloween costumes.
Mongeau is known for her extravagant costumes and the full blown photoshoots that accompany them each year.
Fans have come to anticipate Mongeau’s Halloween costume posts, even coining the iconic postings as “Tanaween.”
This year Mongeau’s costumes were as playful and iconic as ever, and she even brought some special guests along for the ride.
Chili’s Fried Mozzarella
Mongeau started out strong by dressing up as one of her favorite things: fried mozzarella from Chili’s.
She and fellow influencer Trisha Paytas dressed up in the duo costume together as two halves of the iconic appetizer, complete with a gooey cheese pull connecting them. The pair then posed in front of and inside of their local Chili’s, even eating an actual order of fried mozzarella together.
Mongeau has long professed her love for the restaurant chain to her friends and followers. In a viral clip from her interview on his podcast, fellow influencer Jake Shane revealed to Mongeau that he had never been to Chili’s before, which prompted her to loudly scream “What?! What?! You’ve never been to Chili’s?!” at him.
Mongeau even referenced the viral clip, lip synching to the audio from it on TikTok with Paytas in their costumes.
Madeline Ashton from Death Becomes Her
Mongeau teamed up with Paytas again for another duo costume, inspired by the 1992 film Death Becomes Her. Mongeau dressed as Madeline Ashton, played by Meryl Streep in the movie, while Paytas dressed as Helen Sharp, played by Goldie Hawn in the movie.
Paytas is a longtime fan of the film and subsequent musical, and asked Mongeau to be her companion for the look, despite h. In the caption, Paytas said, “@tanamongeau getting into character from a movie/musical she’s never seen before is true friendship goals.”
Mongeau and Paytas also teamed up for a costume last year alongside model Holly Madison. The trio dressed up as the Bimbettes from the 1991 animated version of Beauty and the Beast, all donning voluminous blonde ponytail wigs.
Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City
Mongeau put in some super tight curls and grabbed her besties for a fun group costume inspired by the ladies of Sex and the City. While Mongeau has clarified in the comments of the post that she is personally more of a Samantha, she still went all out for her look as Carrie Bradshaw.
Alongside her were her friends Ashly Schwan as Samantha Jones, Isabella Fusco as Charlotte York, and Trevi Moran as Miranda Hobbes. The four friends posed around town together, shopping at Saks Fifth Avenue and gossiping over cocktails, just as the characters do on the show.
Mongeau and Schwan also dressed up together last year, posing with pompoms as Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders.
Kylie Jenner in her ‘King Kylie’ Era
Tanaween wouldn’t be complete without Mongeau doing an iconic couples costume with her boyfriend Makoa. This year, the pair chose to dress up as Kylie Jenner in her “King Kylie” era and her ex Travis Scott for the Unruly Halloween Party in West Hollywood.
In an interview at the party, Mongeau shared her inspiration behind the costume, saying, “I released my own lip kit with Tarte. I’m in my lip kit era myself, and it changed my life so I can’t imagine how Miss King Kylie felt.”
While the couple claimed Makoa was dressed as Travis Scott, many of Mongeau’s fans pointed out in the comments that his costume more closely resembled rapper Tyga, who had also been romantically involved with Jenner at one point. But, as many of her fans know, Mongeau herself has admitted to having hooked up with Tyga in the past, which would make it super awkward for her boyfriend to openly dress up as him.
Last year at the Unruly Halloween Party, Mongeau dressed up as Lady Gaga in her iconic meat dress with Makoa by her side as her “Moon Man,” aka the trophy for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs).
The couple also did two more costumes together last year, dressing up as Sharpay Evans and Chad Danforth from the movie High School Musical and Na’vi aliens from the Avatar movie franchise.
