Country singer, Cam, known as Cam Country on Instagram, moved fans to tears with a heartfelt performance featuring her child on stage.
In an Instagram post, the country singer, born Camaron Marvel Ochs, shared a video of herself hugging her baby while singing a song she wrote about death.
She captioned the post, “One of many teary-eyed moments at the Ryman 🥹 People keep telling me how much lighter they feel after shedding some tears at this show 🕊️.”
The lyrics of the song are heart-wrenching. “I will meet you by the river. If I go before you do, I’m not gone — just gone ahead, waiting there for you. And I will meet you by the river. And when your time is through, we’ll cross over hand in hand, ’cause it’s not heaven till I’m with you.”
Fans responded with emotional messages, sharing how deeply the performance resonated. One fan wrote, “I’m battling cancer. I’m holding my brand-new baby and sobbing. 😭❤️ Beautiful song.” Another said “My dad’s funeral is today. I’m getting ready for it right now, and this is the first thing I saw in my timeline. I’ve never needed something more. What a beautiful song! ❤️”
A third fan asked for the singer to release this song as soon as she can and wrote. “This wrecks me in the best way. Please release it. ❤️”.
The 40-year-old became a mother, welcoming daughter Lucy Marvel, 5, with her husband, Adam Weaver on December 19, 2019. Cam revealed motherhood deeply influenced the making of All Things Light, her most recent album.
“I didn’t grow up religious and I wasn’t really given a framework in that way. I enjoyed that, I think, for most of my life, having the freedom to explore ideas and learn from a lot of different practices. And then, when I had Lucy, it felt so serious — just as a mom, I’m responsible for guiding her and I don’t know that I know all the answers,” Cam told People.
