Ryan Reynolds has made a life-changing donation to help a mother afford her baby Ollie’s critical surgery.

Ollie was born with a hole in his heart and defects in his arteries. UK doctors said they were unable to operate and could only offer palliative care. However, Stanford Children’s Hospital in California confirmed that surgery is possible—but the family needs to raise funds to cover the procedure and post-surgery treatments.

Ollie’s mother, Jasmin, has been using her TikTok account, OlliesHeartFund, to advocate for her son. Many of her videos have gone viral, seemingly catching Reynolds’ attention.

In a TikTok post on October 21, she said, “Nobody wants to beg to save their child’s life, but I have no choice. This is Ollie. He’s 13 months old and he was born with one of the rarest heart conditions in the world. The NHS can’t operate, but Stanford Children’s Hospital in America can. The only problem is it’s going to cost us £1.5 million to get there.”

After Reynolds donated, Jasmin shared a TikTok video with the caption, “I’m in absolute shock. RYAN. REYNOLDS. JUST. DONATED. 🤯💔 Because YOU kept sharing Ollie’s story. Because you made noise. THANK YOU!!!!”

The family’s GoFundMe page has now raised over $435,000 for Ollie’s surgery. According to the page, Stanford will first perform a pulmonary artery reconstruction, the most urgent step.

Ollie’s lung arteries are currently underdeveloped, making a full repair impossible. This surgery will improve blood flow to the lungs, allowing the arteries to strengthen over the next 6 to 9 months.
