Sarah Michelle Gellar shared a sweet birthday tribute to her Buffy the Vampire Slayer co-star Michelle Trachtenberg, who passed away in February of this year.
Today, October 11, would have been Michelle‘s 40th birthday.

The I Know What You Did Last Summer actress shared a video of their Buffy characters—sisters Buffy and Dawn Summers—hugging and wrote a touching caption to accompany the upload.
“When you turned 16, it was hard not to still see you as the little girl I met on All My Children. When you turned 21, I had to teach myself to not see you as the little sister anymore. I can’t imagine what 40 would have been like. This I know… it would be filled with love. Happy birthday @michelletrachtenberg,” Sarah wrote.
She also posted the clip on her Instagram story.
Some of Michelle‘s Gossip Girl co-stars, like Leighton Meester and Penn Badgley, also shared tributes after her passing earlier this year.
