In March, the Father of the Bride actress put her Los Angeles five-bedroom, seven-bath “dream home” on the market for $29 million. She had previously said she “planned to remain there permanently.”

Diane had previously poured years of time and energy into renovating it, having lived there since 2017 and even writing a book about the house titled The House That Pinterest Built.

The source indicates that she withdrew more in her final months and was rarely seen walking her dog, Reggie, around Brentwood, where she was once a neighborhood fixture.

“She loved her neighborhood. Up until just a few months ago, she’d walk her dog every day. She was usually dressed the same, with a hat and her signature sunglasses regardless of the weather,” they said.

“She was always very nice, funny and chatty. She’d talk to her dog like he was a person. She was eccentric and had this old-school Hollywood aura. She was very, very special.”

Steve Martin, Bette Midler, and more celebs are paying tribute to the late actress.
