Former National Football League (NFL) kicker Rodrigo Blankenship has been hard at work aiming to get back in the league, and he’s taking his followers along with him for the journey.

Blankenship’s latest idea? Recreating the best kicks from each week of the NFL season until he gets a team tryout.

Having kicked for the Indianapolis Colts from 2020-2021, the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, and briefly signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023, Blankenship is determined to prove he can earn his spot on an NFL roster yet again.

In the meantime, he spent the spring playing for the St. Louis Battlehawks in the United Football League (UFL) to keep his skills sharp. However, even with an impressive UFL season behind him, Blankenship has yet to secure a roster spot in the NFL this football season.

“I wasn’t really expecting to be here after the year that I had in the UFL, but that’s just the way the cookie crumbles,” Blankenship admitted in his video introducing the new series. “We’re gonna keep working, keep putting out good tape, and keep trusting the process.”

Blankenship’s followers flooded the comments of his post with supportive messages. “Best of luck Rodrigo! Hope to see you back in the league soon,” one follower commented.

“Man I really thought u would be back in the league. Hope u do soon,” another commenter added.

After the Atlanta Falcons’ recent kicking failures and a particularly glaring 30-0 loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, September 21, fans are now flooding the comments on Blankenship’s latest video with appeals to the Falcons to hire him.

“Come to Atlanta pleaseeee,” one fan commented on the post. “Hey @atlantafalcons this man is a free agent btw,” another commenter added, followed by laughing emojis.

One fan even went so far as to comment, “@atlantafalcons do you plan on winning games this season orrrrr….” implying Blankenship could be an answer to the team’s recent problems.

While Blankenship has not commented directly on the pleas for him to join the Falcons, he has been remaining hopeful and passionate about his love for the game in every post.
