Billie Eilish couldn’t be happier about her brother’s big news.
After Finneas O’Connell and Claudia Sulewski announced their engagement in a September 25 Instagram post, Billie made sure the world knew how thrilled she was for them. The “Birds of a Feather” singer reshared their announcement to her own Instagram Story that same day, adding a crying emoji and a heart emoji to show just how emotional she was about the milestone.
But she didn’t stop there. Billie later shared her real-time reaction to the news, posting a screenshot from a FaceTime call with Claudia. In the image, the CYKLAR founder proudly flashed her diamond engagement ring while Billie looked completely stunned in the corner of the screen.
For their part, Finneas and Claudia shared photos and videos of themselves kissing and celebrating the moment with the caption, “forever and ever 9.22.” It was a joyful reveal for a couple whose relationship has been admired by fans for years.
The engagement comes after a long and loving journey together. Finneas and Claudia began dating in 2018 after meeting on a dating app, and it didn’t take long for her to inspire his music. Just hours after meeting her, Finneas wrote a song titled “Claudia,” which he revealed in a 2019 interview with BuzzFeed. He even admitted he sent her parts of the song the very same night.
Since then, the Grammy-winning producer hasn’t been shy about expressing just how much Claudia means to him. In a 2022 birthday tribute, he gushed, “You’d have to scour the globe to try to find someone equally as talented, creative and hard working as you are, my love. Then you’d have to do it a second time to try to find someone as kind, thoughtful and generous.”
He quipped, “A third time to find someone as funny, a fourth to find someone as loving, a fifth to find someone as beautiful.”
Claudia, a host, actress, and skincare entrepreneur, has also played a creative role in Finneas’ career. Most notably, she directed and starred in the music video for his 2022 track “Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa,” which featured the couple’s romantic adventures in Paris. “It’s a gushy video, for sure!” Claudia told Vogue at the time. “We’re pretty deep in it at this point — we’ve been dating for almost four years, so I think the cat’s out of the bag.”
