The Eat Pray Love actress was asked if anyone had approached her yet about returning for the sequel during a Variety cover story promoting her new movie After the Hunt.
“They’re talking to me,” she confirmed, seemingly indicating that she is open to reprising the role of Julianne “Jules” Potter.
The cover story interview also included Julia‘s After the Hunt director Luca Guadagnino and co-star Chloë Sevigny, with Chloë revealing that Luca really wants to direct the sequel.
The filmmaker confirmed, saying that he would direct a follow-up to My Best Friend’s Wedding “in a second.”
The sequel was originally confirmed this past July. Celine Song is attached to write the script.
